Brief description:

Centred on helping schools and universities gain a better understanding of their culture, imabi Inspire is designed to make students feel safer and better represented.

Offering named or anonymous reporting to flag inappropriate behaviours (including from staff as well as fellow students), the chance to provide feedback via surveys, targeted guidance from trusted sources, as well as acting as a portal for essential information – it’s an ‘all in one place’ safeguarding resource.

This innovative platform, which forms part of the wider imabi ecosystem, allows educators to receive reports of unwanted behaviour more easily and more quickly — whilst also improving triage and recording practices.

imabi Inspire also eliminates the need to have multiple communication channels and systems to get key messages and alerts to students, with the option to push real-time notifications to a student community, attaching guides and documents.

Why entering?

imabi Inspire is deserving of this award as its core ethos is built on having a social impact on one of the country's most vulnerable demographics. School and university are complex periods of life for many students — seeing them presented with a whole host of differing challenges.

What imabi Inspires seeks to do is support each user through that journey. Be it a personal concern about safety, or something a student believes the educational institution could do better — they can become better represented and empowered to drive change.

The platform is already having a big impact on its users, and is showing no sign of slowing. It is an effective way for educators to tell their students “we take your safety seriously” and in turn, imabi has seen this to be very well received.

Its impact is amplified by the recent incident that saw the removal of a teacher (who is subsequently being investigated by police) thanks to reports received from pupils via the app — demonstrating the genuine impact this can have on student safety. What’s more, it offers parents peace of mind when they drop their child off at school or university.

The fundamental aim of student safeguarding is all about making it easier to access support and report concerns, as ultimately, this can make the difference between getting help and not. imabi Inspire is designed to facilitate this, which sets it apart as a leader in proactive digital safety.
